#Achilles tendinosis referred by Consultant Radiologist for Shockwaves except he had Radial First when his should have had FOCUSED ESWT after DUS unable to run tried many Achilles rehabilitation exercisesDiagnosis of ‘Right-sided insertional Achilles tendinopathy’ following ultra sound in July 2023 with multiple areas of calcification at the enthesis. Following discussions with Consultant, received shockwave treatment which had short term benefit. Symptoms returned, my opinion is that while the tendon benefited from shockwave (RADIAL shockwaves) the calcification on the ankle will continue to aggravate while present. Looking for a professional opinion on the likelihood of shockwave being able to remove/reduce the calcification. After 4 sessions of STORZ FOCUSED Shockwave for the MRI he is now back to return to run STORZ MEDICAL AG Read MRI report after 4 x Storz Focused Electromagnetic Focused ESWT From the sporty competitive male 50 years I’m going to try and find the notes from my initial diagnosis to compare. Very glad I did this, thank you!He can not start his Slow Heavy Resistance rehabilitation for his achilles on the Smiths Machine till after his 4 Storz Focused Treatments and confirmation by the MRI Scan now he is ready for achilles strengthening and rehabilitation This is a dedicated Achilles tendon MRI examination with no coronal images. Vistahttps://lnkd.in/egWfZwgFThe MR examination demonstrates satisfactory appearance of the noninsertional portion of the Achilles tendon. No tendon thickening or heterogeneity. No paratenonitis. No intrinsic signal changes. No Achilles tendon tear. The insertional portion of the Achilles tendon demonstrates mild enthesopathic bony changes with minimal areas of tendinosis/intrinsic degeneration at the attachment to the calcaneal tuberosity. No significant Achilles tendon thickening or Achilles tendon tear. No pre-Achilles or retrocalcaneal bursal fluid.Mild prominence of the posterior calcaneal tuberosity suggesting mild Haglund configuration.Unremarkable appearance of the plantar fascia. The reminder of the ankle joint has not been imaged to advantage. Allowing for this, there is no evidence of osteochondral injury within the tibiotalar joint. No tibiotalar or subtalar joint effusion or synovitis.Unremarkable appearance of the subtalar joint and tarsal sinus. No flexor, extensor or peroneal tenosynovitis.Thickening of the anterior syndesmotic ligament in keeping with prior partial sprain with scarring.Thickening of the ATFL in keeping with prior sprain. No discontinuity.Impression: Mild insertional Achilles tendinosis changes as described. Mother of all Battles #FEMALE #PELVIC POST PARTUM … forgotten 🙋 as discussed at last Sporty Conference there is always lots on ED and mens health ! But us ladies !! here in the study by Glasgow Caledonian University Glasgow Caledonian University Congratulations 🙌 Scottish Athletics 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Forward thinking article concent for photo by Morag who told me today about the recent article in the Glasgow Herald A high proportion of women experience urinary and faecal #incontinence and #pelvic organ prolapse up to 26 years after giving birth, research has found. The study by Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) found 61% of women surveyed had recently experienced urinary incontinence, 22% had faecal incontinence and 17% had prolapse symptoms. Here in the article by reporter Craig Williams of the Glasgow Herald https://lnkd.in/ej294jgUConsent Thank you so much for today 🥰❤️xxWe used Storz Focused ESWT + EMTT while her mother GP experience in female health told her daughter to have EMTT & FESWTMessage 8.06. 2020 12.30 am at nightHey Helen. I’m sorry for the late message! Random question - do any of the shockwave machines work well to break down and aid resorption and healing of a haematoma? I hope you’re well 🥰🥰xxMy SIJ pain has settled, but I’m not sure if it’s because my body has adjusted as it was niggly and gets niggly at some points when I’m lifting mollie up. I remember I didn’t think it was sore/inflamed though and it was very sore on EMTT. I feel like I can’t contact my PF, so I think you’ll be right 🥰🙌🏼 as I haven’t done anything to cause a regression 😇xx Ludger Gerdesmeyer So..EMTT feels very sore when it is popped on - although the machine makes a noise like it’s and intermittent pulse, the pain is a severe sharp pain and feels constant until the machine is finished. It’s strange as the pain varies when the ring is moved or even tilted depending on the areas that are inflamed/irritated. For me that is my pelvis, but on other areas without active inflammation it’s totally painless. On any areas of active inflammation depending on the severity, it feels like I won’t be able to handle the pain, but then it eases as the treatment continues, but is always a relief when it finishes. It makes a slight difference straight away, but a massive difference 2 days post-treatment. For me with the bony oedema and inflammation around my SIJs and pubic symphysis I’m able to contract my pelvic floor muscles and have much less leaking from 2 days post-treatment 😊🙌🏼Morag and all her family, her husband, her GP mother and all her family would like to thank you for the EMTT and Focused ESWT because she was struggling to do any of the pelvic floor exercises and completely failing no wonder so many women struggle afterwards to regain their pelvic floor health sometimes the exercises will not switch on STORZ MEDICAL AG Gerard GreeneMichael Strøm 🇩🇰Jenny TorneyISMSTSharon Reynolds-Kyle, DC

( Orthobiologics Injectables in Elite Sport: Evidence Base and ExperienceThe need for rapid return to play post-acute injury and the optimisation of chronic injury are some of the main goals in sports and exercise medicine. The requirement for injectables to enhance this management is an ever-increasing area of medical practice. But which ones are best for which situations? What evidence base guides us?
